PUPILS at Crown Hills Community College, in Spinney Hills, Leicester, were given a motivational talk by business executive, Shahid Sheikh, from Clifton Packaging.

Mr Sheikh is managing director of the multi-million pound firm, based at Leicester’s Meridian Business Park, in Braunstone.

He built up the firm with his family after being thrown out of Uganda by dictator Idi Amin 40 years ago.

Crown Hills teacher Anna Tonkin said: “We invited Mr Sheikh to come in and talk to some of our year 10 pupils.

“It’s a truly inspirational story and we wanted to pass that onto our students.

“It was fascinating to listen to him and he had a great rapport with pupils.

“He told them how his family arrived here with nothing but thanks to hard work and enthusiasm managed to create a fantastic business.”

The firm makes packaging for a range of food products, including biscuits and rice.
